Dosage and Administration

Cefixime 200 mg + Azithromycin 250 mg: A typical dose may be 1 tablet once daily or as directed by the healthcare provider.

The dosage for children is based on their weight and the severity of the infection. For pediatric use, the specific antibiotic doses may need to be adjusted. Consult a healthcare provider for exact dosing in children.

Precautions

Cefixime and Azithromycin should not be used in patients who have known hypersensitivity or allergies to cephalosporins or macrolides. Patients with such allergies should avoid this combination.

Both Cefixime and Azithromycin should be used with caution in patients with liver or kidney issues. Adjustments in dosing may be needed, and careful monitoring is advised.

Cefixime and Azithromycin are generally considered safe during pregnancy, but they should only be used when necessary and prescribed by a doctor.

These antibiotics are excreted into breast milk in small amounts. Azithromycin and Cefixime should only be used while breastfeeding if deemed necessary by the healthcare provider.

Azithromycin and Cefixime can cause gastrointestinal upset, such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The probiotic (Lactic Acid Bacillus) in this combination helps prevent or minimize these issues.

Prolonged use of broad-spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime and Azithromycin can lead to the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms such as fungi or resistant bacteria. Regular monitoring for signs of superinfection is essential.
