Indications
This combination tablet is typically used for the treatment of:
- Musculoskeletal pain and inflammation (e.g., back pain, sprains, strains)
- Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
- Muscle spasms (associated with conditions such as low back pain, muscle injuries, and other musculoskeletal disorders)
- Acute pain related to muscle or joint conditions
Dosage and Administration
Typical Dosage: The usual dosage is 1 tablet (60 mg Etoricoxib + 4 mg Thiocolchicoside) once daily.
o The tablet should be taken as a whole with water, either with or without food.
DurationThe duration of treatment will depend on the severity of the condition being treated. It is typically recommended for short-term use unless otherwise directed by a healthcare provider.
Instructions:
o Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
o Take the medication consistently at the same time each day for optimal effectiveness.
Precautions
Cardiovascular Risk: Etoricoxib, as a COX-2 inhibitor, can increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, or other cardiovascular events. It should be used with caution in individuals with heart disease or high blood pressure.
Gastrointestinal Risk: NSAIDs like Etoricoxib can cause gastrointestinal irritation, ulcers, or bleeding. People with a history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding should use this medication with caution.
Kidney and Liver Function: Both Etoricoxib and Thiocolchicoside should be used with caution in people with liver or kidney problems. Regular monitoring may be necessary.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Etoricoxib is generally not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy due to potential harm to the fetus. Consult a healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Drug Interactions: Inform your doctor if you are taking other medications, especially anticoagulants, antihypertensives, other NSAIDs, or muscle relaxants.
Elderly Patients: Elderly individuals may be more prone to side effects, especially gastrointestinal and cardiovascular issues.
