Dosage and Administration
Typically, 500 mg once or twice a day, depending on the infection severity and type.
In Children Dosage is based on body weight and the type of infection. Pediatric doses should be determined by a healthcare provider.
Precautions
Allergy: Do not use if allergic to Cefuroxime, other cephalosporins, or any ingredients in the tablet.
Renal Impairment: Dose adjustments may be necessary in patients with kidney issues.
Pregnancy and Lactation: Cefuroxime is considered safe during pregnancy (Category B), but consult a healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Diarrhea: May cause diarrhea; contact your doctor if it becomes severe or persistent.
Superinfection: Long-term use may lead to superinfections, including fungal or Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.
