Serazip-D

This combination tablet contains three active ingredients: Serratiopeptidase, Diclofenac Potassium, and Paracetamol, each contributing to the reduction of pain, inflammation, and swelling. The combination is used to treat a variety of conditions involving pain and inflammation.

  • Serratiopeptidase (15 mg): A proteolytic enzyme that helps in breaking down dead or damaged tissue, thus reducing inflammation and promoting healing. It also helps reduce swelling and pain.
  • Diclofenac Potassium (50 mg): A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme, which is involved in the production of prostaglandins.
  • Paracetamol (325 mg): A common analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer), it works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in the brain, providing pain relief and lowering fever.

Precautions

Liver and Kidney Function:

Paracetamol can cause liver damage if overused, especially in those with existing liver disease.

Diclofenac can affect kidney function, especially with prolonged use. Use with caution in individuals with pre-existing kidney problems.

Gastrointestinal Risk: Diclofenac (like all NSAIDs) may irritate the stomach lining, leading to ulcers or bleeding. It should be used with caution in individuals with a history of gastric ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.

Heart Disease: NSAIDs such as Diclofenac may increase the risk of cardiovascular events, including heart attack and stroke, particularly when used long-term. Use with caution in individuals with heart disease or high blood pressure.

Allergic Reactions: Some people may experience allergic reactions, especially to Diclofenac or Paracetamol. Symptoms may include rash, itching, or swelling.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

o Diclofenac should generally be avoided during the third trimester of pregnancy, and should be used cautiously in the first and second trimesters under the supervision of a doctor.

o Paracetamol is generally considered safe during pregnancy but should still be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Consult a healthcare provider before using this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Elderly: Elderly individuals may be more prone to the side effects of Diclofenac, particularly gastrointestinal bleeding and kidney issues.
