- Recommended Usage
Indication
- Tinea infections (such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, and jock itch)
- Candidiasis (fungal infections caused by Candida species, including skin and vaginal infections)
- Pityriasis versicolor (a fungal infection that causes discolored patches on the skin)
- Seborrheic dermatitis (inflammation on the skin, often involving the scalp)
Dosage and Administration
Application: Apply a thin layer of Clotrimazole 2% cream to the affected area once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare provider.
Instructions:
o Clean and dry the affected skin before applying the cream.
o Gently rub the cream into the affected area and surrounding skin.
Duration:
o For Tinea infections: Treatment typically lasts for 2-4 weeks.
o For Candidiasis and Pityriasis versicolor: Treatment may last for 2-4 weeks, depending on the severity.
Precautions
Avoid Eyes: Prevent the cream from coming into contact with the eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with water.
Allergic Reactions: If irritation, itching, or swelling occurs at the site of application, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before using Clotrimazole during pregnancy or while breastfeeding to weigh potential risks and benefits.
